GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Shalom
Genesis 2:1-3
The Seventh Day
...on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
Genesis 2:15-20
“...It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
...But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
What is it that makes Adam different from the animals?
SABBATH Trusting the story demands an acting belief that God is not holding out on us.
FREEDOM True freedom demands parameters; unbridled creativity is destructive.
TRUST True trust demands a reverent “fear” and awe, and a recognition of the presence of a Creator.
DESIGN True “fear” demands an understanding of a creational hierarchy; the Designer knows best.

iConnect #3 — Discipleship
The Gospel Message
Gen. 1:26-31
If God is as smart as I think He is, these two verses are connected.
God’s purpose for you, then, is to realize the full potential of who you were created to be. Discipleship is an intentional journeying with others to take hold of that truth.
1. Discipleship invites; it doesn’t demand.
2. Discipleship invites us to reaffirm the goodness of creation and God’s plan for it.
3. Discipleship invites us to ignite and take hold of our role in creation.
4. Discipleship invites us to a deeper, better story, and a truer true.

Kingdom of God - AV References to, verse list.
I have been studying on the topic of kingdom of God off-and-on over the last couple of years. I am importing some of this to the blog in order to work on some of the mechanics of NETBibleTagger. I am just learning what the tagger recognizes and what I have to reformat so it works right.
Also I like to be able to see my bible studies on the Blog because I find them a little more readable there than within the DOS bible program that I use for my studies.
1. The expression "Kingdom of God" as its used throughout the new testament.
Found 5 Times in Matthew
Mt 6:33 In the context of this verse Mt 6:19-34 we are told that we should not place our values in those things which we can accumulate here on earth. We are to invest in an eternal account. In verse 24 we see that finances can turn us away from God. In Mt 6:31,32 We are told to not worry about nor pursue what we will eat, drink, or wear. "For after all these things do the Gentiles seek." Gentiles sometime translated "pagans."

Starting to add tools to my bible study... (briefly on tithing)
I tend to study with the only objective as to resolve my own issues which arise from time to time, but sometimes I find that I am not ready to defend what I have believed. But as I read the bible I am reminded that we are to be ready (1 Peter 3:15) to give an answer...
The project this night is to streamline my text by not having to copy the entire text into my blog. From now on I will be able to give a reference to a scripture and have it show the quote in a pop out balloon. I have it working now, but it doesn't seem to work with the mobile app version of the blog.
For the first new post am going to add some verses which I alluded to Sunday night in a Care Group meeting. I made a statement in Care Group last week that the absence of the teaching of tithing in the new testament with the exception of passages where the Jewish congregation was being spoken to was a "conspicuous absence" and in itself demonstrates that God was not extending this teaching to non-Jews.
Here are some examples. Note that God is directing these passages to the Jews. Also note that these references are at the time of Christ in the Gospels, or in the history of Israel, as in verses found in Hebrews. This is not an exhaustive study only a few verses. I may actually start a more in depth look at this as a doctrine someday.
